ROTARY INTERNATIONAL

 DISTRICT 9110 EDUCATION AND WELFARE ENDOWMENT FUND (DEWEF)

The District 9110 Education & Welfare Endowment Fund (DEWEF) was established in 1991/92 Rotary year by PDG Adekunle Kukoyi with a donation of N25,000 from PDG Adeniji Raji of RC Gbagada. The fund did not grow until year 2001-02 under the leadership of PDG Charles Adebiyi when a total of N200,000 was left in the Account. This was increased to N700,000 during PDG Alaba Akinsete’s year and N3.1million during PDG Olumayowa Olukoya (2004/05). In 2006/07 a sum of N2.98million was inherited. This has been increased to N3.6m from Sergeant-At-Arm collections from 80 Clubs.

For 2008-2009, projects will be funded in these areas:

EDUCATION

1. Research and Scholarships in Nigerian Universities
2. Health
3. Formation of Volunteer Corp for National and International Disasters.

The fund is administered by a Board of Trustees chaired by PDG Juli Adelusi-Adeluyi

Total fund contributed so far N3.6m

Donations from Clubs and Rotarians will be given due recognition, thankfully received and faithfully applied.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The Fund is organized for the following objectives and purposes:

• For charitable and educational purposes.
• To award scholarships to needy students
• To help the District in its intervention efforts to national disasters.
• To assist in funding volunteer activities and;
• For purposes connected with the stated aims and objectives.
